AFRICA MISSION TRIP

June 4-18, 2006 a team of 21 flew to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to begin an amazing two weeks of ministry. The team met up with MANNA missionaries Sandy and Karen Baird and 11 others with them from Texas. They were able to see 97 come to know Christ as their Savior on this trip as a result of the ministry activities they did. They were also able to bring many items to donate to the feeding centers, the missionaries and the church's they attended.

This is a short version of what the team did:

TANZANIA
Dar es Salaam

  • Bible Club Day at the Neema House MANNA Feeding Center - did crafts, played games, did balloon characters, gave faith bears and more with 100 children.
  • Helped prepare, serve and clean up breakfast and lunch for the children.

Gumba

  • Shared testimonies, played games and hung out with children at a school in a 98% Muslim Village. We gave them 1,000 pencils, 75 bags of concrete to finish out three classrooms that have dirt floors, gave all teachers gifts, and more. The purpose of this day was to open the door for the missionaries to be invited back and someday start a church in this village.

Arusha

  • Held a Praise and Worship service at Dave and Bonnie Jones church. They handed out flyers all morning inviting the people in the community around their church. There were many different musical specials, testimnonies, and the team even sang a song in Swahili! This service was used as an outreach opportunity for their church to invite their community to come and hear the gospel.
  • Attended Sunday & Wednesday church services in Arusha with Vernon & Mary Smith. Gave testimonies, did special music, played games and fellowshiped with their church memebers before & after the services.
  • Went around the neighborhood of their church and handed out flyers inviting them to a Bible Club, Basket Ball Camp and Praise and Worship Service that same day & evening. There was a huge turn out at each service and it was a great day!

Kenya

  • Worked at two MANNA Feeding centers in Nariobi with our missionaries Ole & Renee Konnerup. There were over 100 kids at each. They played games, gave out balloons and candy, and just spent time being with the children.
  • They were also able to help prepare, serve and clean up lunch for the kids.

While in Africa the team was also able to see:

  • Tim and Kim Whitfield Tabora, Tanzania
  • Jonathan & Danielle Foltz Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
  • Connie Vincent Eldoret, Kenya
  • Patrick & Grace Ngei Nairobi, Kenya
